NK’s proprietary stroke algorithm, combined with a sensitive three-axis accelerometer, gives immediate accurate stroke rating in any boat – rowing shell, dragon boat, canoe or kayak – and in any position. You can even rest it on the floor of the boat between your feet since it is completely waterproof.

“I love my SpeedCoach GPS Unit! I purchased and started using my Speedcoach mid last season and straight away I found it to be an excellent tool to use in my crews training sessions in the boat. Although the Speedcoach has many functions I mainly use it for Stroke Rating & Boatspeed and found that it is a very effective unit to use when training in flatwater either with base fitness work early in the season or race piece work later in a season – it keeps the crew honest, allows me to monitor rating and speed without having to take my hands off the sweep oar! You can use the Speedcoach out in the chop although sometimes the readings are all over the place as you go up and down swells as the GPS unit loses the signal.
